Festival Activities


Cooking Contest - Sunday Special Event Tent

Open to everyone, This coconut cooking contest will put neighbor against neighbor as they vie for  prizes and the coveted Coconut Festival apron! Three divisions: professional, amateur and keiki!

Contestants must submit a recipe utilizing coconut meat, milk or water as a pupu or dessert. For more information on how to enter call 639-8080, or pick up an entry form in Kapaa at  Ono Family Restaurant, Vicky’s Fabrics or online at: www.kbakauai.org. Recipes must be the original idea of the contestant and unpublished.


Pie Eating Contests

A favorite for kids and adults alike. No table manners here, just down be the first to finish the entire Coconut pie to win.

Vendor Tents

Featured this year are many newly certified Kauai-Made vendors. Kauai Made is a program created by the County of Kauai to officially represent the products made on Kauai, by Kauai people, using Kauai materials. There are also many other hand-made articles, items imported from throughout Polynesia, KBA member companies and community service booths.



Cooking Demonstration Tent

This year the festival is proud to feature Some of Kauai’s best professional chefs presenting their favorite recipe with coconut as the primary or secret ingredient. Presenting chefs are owners or executive chefs of some of Kauai’s best restaurants.


Keiki Activity Tents

Activities for children and their families abound in the Keiki Activity Tent. Come in for coconut crafts, coconut painting, face painting, and games.


Games

It’s like going to the carnival, only with coconuts! Try your hand at Coconut bowling, tossing a ping pong ball into a coconut bowl, ring around the coconut. Win fun prizes! You can even play a leisurely game of coconut checkers.

For the keiki there’s a pettying zoo,and inflatables
