Re: Lydgate Park speed hump and sea wall repairs



Honorable members of the Council,

The Kapaa Business Association is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 corporation representing the interests and welfare of the residents and businesses on Kauai’s east side. In a formal vote, our Board of Directors resolved to write this letter to let you know our official position regarding the instllation of a speed hump and repair of the sea wall at Lydgate Park.

KBA supports the recommendation of the Friends of Kamalani to install speed humps in Lydgate park. We believe it is a matter of public safety.

KBA also supports the use of FEMA funds to repair the sea wall at Lydgate Park. The repair as designed by the Army Corp of Engineers will help preserve the ponds for use by our residents and visitors. It is especially important that the County approve this project now as the timeline for disaster relief funds will soon run out.
