One of the biggest issues facing businesses on Kauai is the lack of affordable housing for their employees.
Many affordable homes (for purchase and rental) will become available starting in the next 2 to 4 years.

Traffic mitigation
KBA actively seeks creative solutions to near-term problems while continually pressing for a long-term plan. Current successes include expanding Kuhio Highway at Coco Palms to 4 lanes, widening the Wailua River, cane bridge to 2 lanes, securing funding to explore the extension of Pouli Road from Kuhio Highway to the Temporary Bypass.

Progress is going well on the 4 lane bridge improvement over the Wailua river.
Coastal Trail and Parks
KBA has endorsed construction of the 18 mile trail and participated in the planning process. Adopting Horner Park at the entrance to Kapaa, helps to secure new mullti use fields at Lydgate Park and Kapaa New Park.
